I was only there for a meeting but what a lovely hotel very modern inside and very nice old building outside, not what i expected at all, i would recommend giving it a visit.

Hotel very good, nice clean rooms. Good hot shower. Be warned they will not tell you before booking or check in that the heating is broken (27.12.18) this also means the pool is freezing to the point of being too cold to swim in. So if you come for the pool don't bother. The jacuzzi also had a funny smell and didn't seem that clean.The rest of the hotel has been recently refurbished and is lovely but let down by the spa.
Christmas Lunch was not as good as 2017!!! We booked second sitting doesn't work, had to wait nearly three-quarters of an hour to be seated.Diners from first sitting still eating, tables not prepared.The cold food was ok,hot food hard and dry made the best of it as we could.Please stick to one sitting!!!in future.
Pleasant welcome (Ailsa is always lovely), room nice and clean, breakfast good. Funky miniature duck in our bathroom amused me throughout the stay. It's a bit on the dearer side but always nice to soak in the hot tub after a long day. The heating wasn't working so the pool was cold but I'm always up for trying the Roman style spa!
