Lovely well kept site in a beautiful, peaceful location. Easy access to the town of nearby Kendal and to the motorway for further exploration.

Booked last minute with my girlfriend and our trailor tent, very accommodating and friendly. They had no problem having a panel van on site. Toilets and showers were immaculate. Beautiful scenery. Large spacious gravel pitches with electric and TV.Will use again if ever in the area.

We really could not believe our luck when we booked a last minute stay at The Ashes.We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to a lovely welcome by the owner of the site. We were given a choice of pitch, Valerie brought us an information pack aswell as some delicious Kendal Mint Cake! The site is immaculate - the toilets and showers are pristine. Underfloor heating in the large shower rooms are a luxury.A most tranquil, relaxing atmosphere was obvious as we sat down for our first cuppa - taking a look at our surrounds - which are stunning. You cant help but sigh at the sheer beauty and relaxation that is all around.We met the wardens on our second day, lovely people who could not be more helpful. The site is a credit to its owner and wardens. Highly recommend, we will be back as often as we are able to!
