How was Smokies Bar says Google. Dunno.... Didn't go... We were upstairs in Ruskins having a blast playing real live music.
One of those pages where everyone turns around and looks at you when you walk in the door. It was fine though. Got pints and made our way to the back. Didn't stay for another cos the football was blaring. Dog friendly though!
Perhaps I was there on a bad night. I would have left immediately if it wasn't for the fact I was meeting a friend there. Is described in one of the other reviews, there is a distinct aroma when you enter. It wasn't a quick visit and by 23:00 there was a visible different in the types of customers coming and going. The volume was turned up to full between the customers sitting with each other but the long distance conversations were great to listen to. Much of the conversations are not for little ears.In a town with very little quality to offer visitors in the evening I can see how this bar has its attractiveness. Will I go back? Perhaps for memory sake, for another catch-up with friends, definitely not.
