What happened?!Before Xmas 2018, this restaurant was wonderful. Interesting wine list, extensive menu (which included lots of veggie options). So we came with some out of town visitors and it was awful. Poor menu, poor organisation, slow service and noisy children stomping about really made for a bad experience. We won't be back.
We visited on a Sunday evening and staff were very accommodating and friendly. Carvery was the only option which was unfortunate as had seen the main menu which looked really good. Food was good and there was plenty of it. Would visit again to try other dishes.
Good price for the carvery. Nice cozy atmosphere also. Nice and helpful staff that will come take up old drinks and plates and dogs are welcome! Decent selection however some of the self serve items tend to be a little dry.
Friendly pub with a nice atmosphere and a cozy feel. I like the fact that staff offer a waiter/waitress service as they walk about collecting plates/glasses. With this you're able to remain in your comfy seat whilst staff will bring your drink and take payment there and then Staff are friendly and helpful
The carvery here is exceptional. I've had carvery many places and this is by a huge distance the best. The thing I find most impressive isn't just how good it is, but how constantly good it is. More importantly: the mash potatoes, oh the mash potatoes. I think I could have quite happily just eaten them. These are the best mash potatoes I have ever had, so smooth and creamy and tasty. So very, very good. The staff are really friendly and helpful, plus there is a play area where you can ditch your children while you enjoy the food. Always a bonus. Also did I mention the mash potatoes?
