Popped in for a bit of lunch; just a butty and a coffee. My sandwich was mouldy on the crust. I pointed it out to the guy behind the counter, who said that they were just going to check the fridge. He would only keep repeating this. Won't come in again.
Coffee is reasonable, the cakes are good, although I did once buy a sandwich here that I couldn't finish more than a couple of mouthfuls of, it was so awful (this is super rare for me - normally I try to plough on, but it was just so bad). It is a large Unit in the upper level of the Westmorland Shopping Centre with outdoor seating in the Market Square. The cafe is kept clean and the staff are polite, however some of them seem perpetually unhappy.

Had a mega breakfast this morning 4.10.18. Looked good value at 6.50 with 2 bacon 2 sausage 2 eggs beans toast and a brew. However bacon was hard from sitting in a hot case for too long, similar with the sausages which are a very cheap option with hard outer casing and little flavour. The eggs were good and the beans were hot. Fresh toast and a decent coffee. Unfortunately, the main event in an English brekky is bacon and sausage and these two left me severely disappointed. It was my last meal in the Lakes after a 4 day break in a fantastic part of the country..... what a let down. End of term report reads 'must do better next time'.
Great place for a quick drink and a snack. Really central for the town. Good value and open every day.
