The carpark is a total rip off If you stay 1 hour over a full day you have to pay for two days costing 24 The clock charges from 2 am The private car parks next door are only 6 and 8 a day Disgusting price should only pay for the extra hours not another full day.
Nice little station. Very popular for the size. There are 2 station car parks and 2 private car parks and we struggled for 20 mins to find a space. Make sure you have plenty of time if needing to park, or use the pre-pay booking for the parking but do it weeks before your journey. The Willans food place adjacent to the station is excellent for hot drinks and pies, cakes etc at very reasonable prices.
Its got trains, it got a platform, ticket office and everything. Waiting room very warm.Recommended if you need a train or similar
Easy place to change trains, although we were left waiting for nearly an hour when our inbound connection was late.
Usually no problems at all. However, parking is expensive at 12 a day Monday to Friday. Hiked from 9 last year which was bad enough. What's worse is that you can't always find a space to park in. That can cause problems. Also the machine for paying sometimes won't take card payments which is a problem when you arrive after the kiosk & ticket office have closed and you can't get change. Usually OK but Oxenholme Station sometimes presents you with unwanted, unpredictable problems you could do without after a long hard journey.
