We hired a car for our 3 day trip to the Lakes. The vehicle was in perfect condition, the staff was courteous and the checkout was smooth. Cannot fault.
For 41 years I have relied on Enterprise. Their brand was true to Founder Jack Taylors vision. That is, until I entered the Enterprise Kendal office. The service was abrupt and condescending, and this coming surprisingly from the General Manager himself, who admitted to having a bad day. Yet, upon return of the car, the service had only gotten worse. I asked for the name of the Managers supervisor. The supervisor was on holiday and promised to get back to me on June 4. Only after several reminders on the 4th, did I receive a return call from him. The situation was resolved and the Supervisor handled it well, except for the fact that he unintentionally diminished the specifics of my complaint by emphasizing that this is one of the best offices for customer service in the country. Such information is irrelevant to a customer who has had a substandard experience.Which, by the way, brings me to my caveat below: PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS BEWARE, Customer service is a part-time thing: Surprisingly, while this Enterprise dealership is on the edge of a World Heritage Site, be advised that it is closed more than a third of the week, AND on the busiest days (Saturday after one until Tuesday). But no worries: If you either do not read this caveat or fail to read the fine print in your contract, the General Manager will be pleased to point out that you should have read the contract. Charming!
